SLUG Magazine Interviews Flow Founder Melissa Zappa

Writer: Josh WilliamsJosh Williams

Recently the fantastic folks at SLUG MAGAZINE, a staple in the Salt Lake City area for alt news and counter-culture inspiration, sat down with the founder of Flow Acupuncture & Apothecary, Melissa Zappa, to learn about the journey of our clinic over the last 10 years.

It's always nice when folks want to learn more about acupuncture, but this interview was particularly sweet because we really love everything SLUG is about. An acronym for Salt Lake Underground,. Slug Mag has been around since 1989 and has consistently been a representing voice for many of our area's marginalized people, art scenes, social issues, and community care. If you're in the SLC area and love local music, art, and gatherings- this is the magazine for you to read! New issues come out on the first Friday of every month with additional content being posted to their stocked website on a daily basis.

One thing you'll quickly pick up from this interview is that acupuncture is for everyone. Part of the essentially radical nature of holistic wellness is that all people, all bodies, and all needs are welcome. We strive to meet people where they are, honor their experiences of health and healing, and show up for them with the incredible gifts that Traditional Chinese Medicine offers us.

We hope you enjoy this interview as much as we did!
